Hindus have offered condolences on the death of Boyd Kenneth Packer, President of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), also known as Mormon Church, who died on July three in Salt Lake City (Utah, USA).

Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that they were saddened by the passing of President Packer, 90, highly influential Mormon leader of his time, who authored many publications.

A very spiritual man with great inner strength, Packer was instrumental in making church scriptures more comprehensible and was a passionate and master teacher, an accomplished artist and had deep respect for nature and reverence for the ways of God; Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, pointed out.

The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is the second-highest governing body in LDS after the First Presidency. Headquartered in Salt Lake City, LDS has over 15 million members worldwide.
